Barcelona's school enrollment process assigns points based on several criteria. The more points you have, the higher your priority for a spot.
If you already have a sibling enrolled at the school, you get 50 points. This is the criterion worth the most points.
The highest-weight criterion. If you live in the school's enrollment zone, you get 30 points. If you work there, 20 points.
If your family income is at or below the Guaranteed Citizens' Income threshold, you get 15 points.
If the student, a parent, or a sibling has a disability of 33% or more, you get 15 points.
Large family (15 points), student chronic illness (10 points), single-parent family (15 points) — can add up to 40 additional points.
A family living in the school's zone (30 pts) with a sibling at the school (50 pts):
Total: 80 points — very high score, spot practically guaranteed.
It depends on each school's demand. Most schools admit with 30-50 points, but popular ones may require 80+. Our calculator lets you compare with 9 years of real data.
In case of a tie, a public lottery is held. The tiebreaker number is randomly assigned during pre-enrolment.
